Minor or Cosmetic Orthodontics is small tooth movement to achieve optimal dental health and esthetics. This is generally accomplished by wearing a removable appliance.
Our office began offering Invisalign in early 2013. It is a series of clear, removable, comfortable aligners that are used to move teeth and correct malocclusion (the misalignment of teeth). Some types of malocclusion are crowding, spacing, deep bite, crossbite, excessive overjet, edge to edge bite, and open bite. Straightening teeth will significantly improve oral health and can help you keep your teeth for life as well as having the side effect of a beautiful smile. The average treatment time for Invisalign is 6-9 months. We refer more involved and complex orthodontic cases to an orthodontist. Our office is part of the American Academy of Cosmetic Orthodontics. Soon we will be able to digitally scan your arches using the CEREC Omni-Cam instead of taking goopy impressions.
